Hi there, I'm a bit tired of Touchwiz... it's eating my resources quite a bit (Using Go Power Meter, it's consuming around 23.51% of juice.... Whatsapp runs at 34.24% my highest one)

I heard that having a custom launcher consumes less battery life... is that true?

    Which one do you use?
    Go?
    Apex?
    Nova?

    Which one do you recommend?

Ajax or Nova. Both are very good and both are very close to "stock". Don't like GO for anything except their SMS app.

I use Apex on CM9 on my Skyrocket. If you're not fond of Touchwiz, you should try a custom ROM. :)

There are different things I like about every launcher though.

GO has a really nice weather widget (I'm a sucker for weather, I have all those apps across Android, iOS, and Mac even).

Nova lets you change the color of the drawer bar.

But I feel more comfortable using Apex because I feel I get more in the free version. It has features that you have to go Prime in Nova to use.

Not that I don't like paying for apps, but I don't need the extra features.

Apex is my launcher of choice for non-stock devices.

It gives a customised Android build that stock feel and the theme support isn't bad either.

I use stock JB but Apex is apparently the most stable and feature complete launcher out there, from what I hear.

I am still using the default Touch Wiz. So far not bored. After looking at Apple's wall o icons, it will take me a while to get bored of my current launcher I suspect.

Apex and Nova. You can also disable some things that you may not use like Chat on, S Suggest, and any carrier bloatware and your battery will improve

Nova and then utilize my custom icons with two widgets that do not effect battery life in any significant way.

    I got a question
I just got Nova launcher and I love it so far... how come some of the 4*1 widgets looked vertically stretched compared to same ones under Touchwiz Home?
Furthermore, the Yahoo's Stock widget is a bit messed up under Nova launcher... the resizing thing is bugged... I can't resize it to the size I want that shows all my stocks...

Finally, is there a way to show the app's name in the dock under Nova? I can't seem to find the settings for it.

Other than that, I'm happy with Nova's performance... it's a lot faster than Touchwiz Home!

Did you click Resize all widgets and Widget overlap in Nova's settings?

I use to use Apex on my One X and loved it. Then i got my Galaxy Note and it's very choppy. Not sure why. I switched to Nova and it's running quite well. Just as well as stock Touchwiz does.

I've pretty much always stuck with GoLauncherEX stock or custom Rom.

Stock vanilla ICS. I'very yet to find any features I'd feel that would benefit me too much on my tablet.

    Apex ftw.

It's just amazing how far along launchers have come. Does anybody remember using these launchers back in the cupcake days?

    Panda Home
    GDE
    Open Home
    Home ++

I tried loading up GDE on the One X and it was just weird lol

What you are running is probably the least of the resource hogs and I wouldn't mind running it, but alas only the Nexus devices get it and the ROMs out there, that try and replicate it, I'm not fond of. Don't like to Flash ROMs either. I just root.

The only feature I like in Nova over Vanilla is being able to customize my icons the way I want and resizing the few widgets I do have. I paid for Prime, so figured might as well use it on my Nex7.

BTW, on a side note, are you using a PS3 to charge your controller or something else?
