2nd the Haswell model, more battery life, faster flash drive and the new wireless AC :)

Are you waiting for the new Boardwell :D

I disagree with the others

I think the older one will hold it's value better because of that dGPU.

Never buy for resale though always buy for your own need and wants.

If you game go with the older one, if you don't go with tyhe newer one the few dollars difference in resale value really isn't worth worrying about.

OP, buy the model that better suits your needs, not for what may or may not sell in the future.

I think both will be equal in value for the most part, so if you want a dGPU then get the 2012 model. Me, I'd get the 2013, faster better iGPU. I think newer is generally better.

I wouldn't buy any laptop that I knew I'd be selling in a year. That's a short time and you'll lose money on the deal. Why not spring for the best model you can possibly get and keep it for a while?

thanks for all your reply's guys, but i ended up going with the late 2013 and i just got it,but heres the best part i got it with 16 gb ram rather than 8gb :) :) contacted apple because i didn't want to cheat and they said that i can keep it  :apple: <3

I have heard of situations where Apple has over specced an order and let them keep it. Glad it worked out for you!

Honesty is the best policy and it was nice that they let it go as they did. Congrats on your new laptop :)
