Get the refurb and upgrade the warranty. The other one is used.

Get the refurbished 2.4GHz Macbook and upgrade the RAM to 4GB and a 7200RPM hard drive or an SSD, then it will be faster than that 2GHz Macbook.

The RAM will cost probably $60 max, and hard drives are about $100 if the capacity is really that important. I'm having trouble filling up my 250 GB, much less a 320 GB. Under basic usage, I would guess that the refurb would still run faster in it's current state. In addition, the warranty will last longer, especially if you buy AppleCare, it will likely be in better condition (if only slightly) and be individually inspected and repaired by Apple prior to shipment.

Is it easy to install RAM in this computer or should I get someone else to do it for me?

The first one is definitely the best buy. It's easier to upgrade the ram and hdd at a later date when you need to and you have the added security of buying direct from Apple [IMG].
