I'm considering upgrading from MacBook 1st gen (lowest model) to a MacBook Pro (lowest model). Will i notice an increase in speed when i use aperture? It's so slow now that it's annoying :p

Aperture is one of the few apps that really leverages the GPU. Therefore, I would get a MBP with as much 256MB of VRAM. Possible the next gen will even pack 512MB is you wait a couple of weeks.

The integrated graphics with 64MB of shared video memory is definitely slowing you down in Aperture.
