Yep i also think that i will go for the 2015 model
any tips on what to check on the spot?
im trading it for my lenovo y50

Not a lot you can check really, if it boots up fine and opens apps etc fast and connects to the internet and bluetooth with no issues thats about it really. You could run the apple hardware test but it isn't that fast. Check the battery cycles and max charge amounts.

I don't want to stop you from getting a Mac as they're great computers, but what SW are you going to use for the photo edition/video editing? If you don't plan on buying Apple SW then I'd question why you're getting a Mac since you already have a nice portable.

I just bought a rMBP 13" last Tuesday. The 8gb seems plenty but I hope it will be in the future as well.
The only "major" thing I'll be doing on it is movie editing from my childs' youth sports. I assume I'll be using iMovie for the editing. I'm hoping the 8gb's is enough for my tasks.

by SW you mean software right?
its not about the software its about the quality my laptop is a budget gaming laptop
yeah it holds some great specs and getting a macbook is a little drawback in specs
BUT my laptop lacks the battery life and the great touchpad
im no longer into gaming i dont need a gaming laptop im carrying 3KG in my backpack just for the computer and the charger along with books
carrying a 1.5KG machine would be much easier and would much more suit my needs
in addition to that the screen on the Lenovo y50 even though its IPS is horrifying its hurts my eyes to look at it so i guess the retina is a also a selling point for me

Do you think that photo editing and video editing you're going to get better battery life especially in Adobe apps? Do you think you're going to edit photo's with the trackpad? Apples trackpad is the best in the business but it's not for photo not video editing. Those gaming specs you don't need also accelerate Ps/Lr/Premiere. If you're looking for a Mac just say that but please don't use "photo editing" or 'video editing" as a reason.

First of all im pretty sure that i will get better battery in any field the Y50 holdד no more then 3 hours.
Second i never said that im going to edit videos and photos with the trackpad im just using a trackpad very often so its a selling point for me.
Third i know that the Y50 will render anything faster thanks to its I7 and dedicated graphics but its not what im looking for,im talking about very little music and video editing (never mentioned photos though)
Fourth im not looking for any excuses what the Y50 can do in the gaming field i know that the mac wont but in any other field im pretty positive that the macbook has the upper hand and since gaming doesn't mean much anymore i would rather go with a mac

If you're convinced then enjoy your new Mac.

If you have anything negative to say then say it
People are always flattering the macbook i would like to hear some negative thoughts too

Why should I say anything negative? You think the Mac will work best for you and it's not a bad computer so it's a done deal.

It sounded as if you were having negative thoughts about this deal so i wanted to know what are those thoughts
i mean except for the price there has got to be a flaw
