Hello i just purchased a macbook in august of 08 it has a 2.4 Ghz intel core 2 dou processor with 2 gb 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM. There is a sale on new egg CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 667 (PC2 5300). I looked on the apple site and they dont have my mac book 13" with a 2.4 processor, except for the brand new ones. Mine is the generation jsut before it, all those ones have 2.0-2.2. The memory for the 2.2 is the exact same as the one that is on newegg. But if i look at the mac pro with a 2.4 processor or the new mac book with 2.4 processor they both use 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 (PC3-8500). Can i use the one on newegg or do i have to use the one from apple??????? can anyone help

Pull out your mac user guide and it will tell you what memory works for your computer. I just upgraded my late 07 whitebook 2.2ghz to 4gb RAM from crucial. The old macs use the DDR2 SDRAM 667MHZ. 667mhz=PC2 5300.

this link should answer your question.

Use the memory advisor tool at crucial.com to tell you which type you need. I've used this a number of times, and if you buy from them I think they then guarantee it will work.
