Which memory option did you choose when buying your iPhone and why? :apple:

Share your opinions below, for any iPhone model you bought, even if you have owned multiple models.

For my 6s I went with the 64gb model.

I don't need 128gb, but 16gb felt a bit too claustrophobic on my previous 5s.

I picked 64GB 6S. I don't pick the 16GB simply because I want some breathing room, yet at the same time, I don't want to spend that much money for 128GB, considering I would probably upgrade my phone first before fully utilizing all that storage space.

For iPads on the other hand, I would opt for the max size simply due to the utility of it (I would load my iPad with videos).

64gb because apps are getting bigger and I found myself struggling for space a bit on my 16GB 6+. Would have preferred 32GB baseline but sadly that wasn't an option

Year after year I always bought the iphone with the most memory, that's till this year. I decided to go down the cloud storage route. I decided to do this because no iPhone could store all my music anyways; its 350Gb's in total. I keep all my pictures & videos highly organized in google drive and keep my music uploaded on google music. I'm paying $10 monthly for 1TB of google drive space and $10 for google music. I feel that's the best solution for me. I now don't need to worry about my pics getting deleted and my music is safely stored away at the google servers. I went with google drive because its cheaper than apple and because google music allows 50,000 song uploads. Now I easily can get away with 64GB's. All that space is mostly used up by just apps. I most likely will always get the 64Gb model now.

128. I don't want to have to deal with streaming. And 64 is not enough for me, I've gone past that already.
Looking forward to the next memory bump.

64gb. For me it's the best compromise between storage, cost and resale.

I don't keep too much media on my iPhone but I'd have to micromanage my storage when I was using 16gb.

Memory (aka ram) Storage Capacity...

These days you can choose between two memory options - 1GB (iPhone 5s\6) or 2GB (iPhone 6s).

128 , more future proof .

The trouble is that the future is a new phone, not insufficient memory. I, too, went 128, but I see the folly of it every day. By the time I need more memory, I will long ago have upgraded the phone itself. Apple is seeing to that with iOS updates that slow down older hardware.

As others have said, 64GB is the sweet spot currently. Big enough to not worry about app sizes and taking photos and videos. But not too big that I would feel I wasted money on something I didn't need. I stream all my music, even my owned music, and use Google Photos to keep photos/videos in the cloud as well. I think my average storage size on the phone has dropped from about 30GB in previous phones, to about 20GB nowadays.

128GB, because I use my phones for years. I will also use it more (pics, docs, apps) and I'd rather not run out of space 3-4 years down the road.

I always go for the biggest memory available. So it would be 128 GB. I tried the 64 GB and I only end up with around 30 GB of available space, which is enough but I feel like I need a bit more available space. With the 128 GB storage space. I have about 88GB of space left.

If the next iPhone comes with 256 GB and is at the same price, I might go for that.

That is somewhat irrational, but Apple loves you

16gb is too little and 128gb is too much. 64gb is the sweet spot. I kinda wish there was a 32gb. That would have been perfect.
