which mobile phone to connect ipad to internet , not iphone

Am looking for a mobile phone that can use to connect my ipad to the internet, not interested in paying for an iphone as with the ipad have no need of one.

The Samsung galaxy ace has been mentioned and the HTC wildfire s is coming in at the same price, so has anyone any experience of using either of these phones or any other.

just remeber am looking for a low cost mobile payg .

I remember hearing about a lot of people buying an older Palm Pixi for this. Might be mistaken though.

Wireless tether works great with my Samsung Galaxy S II. I even added a widget to make it one-click on/off.
