iPod which nano should i buy?

i have an offer for the 1st generation brand new black for $120 shipped.

a brand new 2nd generation nano 2gb for $160 shipped off of apple?

this will be a christmas gift for my girlfriend so i don't know if she would even care. but is that much of a difference? she would only need it for music, but i don't want to stick her with something that will scratch easily? what are your opinions? thanks!

I'd take 2G nano just becasue its aluminium. Silver is also better than black IMO
