Hi, all. I'm not sure if this belongs here or in the Linux subforum or here. I have a MacBookPro6,2 (MC372LL/A) I installed Linux Mint on to act as a media computer. The battery had ... inflated? I'll say inflated. So it inflated, and I removed it. Currently, the MacBook Pro boots up when it's plugged in, which is what I'd like it to keep doing. (I have the whole TV setup on a remote-control switch.) I ordered a replacement battery, and I'd like to have the laptop continue booting up when the adapter receives power.

I'm pretty sure this can be done using NVARM/EFI variables, but I'm not sure which one. I understand that these variables are there regardless of the OS on the machine, but let me know if I'm wrong! Here's my output for efivar -l:

$ efivar -l

Once the new battery is in, I intend to write a script of some sort to check to see if the adapter is providing power and power down if it's not. I have the laptop set up to run with the lid closed. Currently the laptop adapter isn't on that remote-controlled switch, so I've been powering it up by unplugging and plugging it back in.

Thanks, everyone!
