A couple days ago, the original 3-year AppleCare+ expired on my kids' M2 laptops. Since both said they were working fine and batteries still showing 90% or higher, I extended the AC+ for another year for $65 each. Certainly the most cost effective option. These are the only Macs I've ever bought AC on, but with them away at school, its nice to have that coverage in case they need to go to a tech center or Genius Bar.

Somewhat. They are marketing and accounting majors and haven't really needed the extra horsepower nor storage it seems (after 3 full years of college).

I am in the "why do you need to upgrade?" camp. Those machines will get them through their undergrad and grad school (if they want to sit for the CPA) just fine. Chances are whomever they work for will give them a laptop for work anyway, relegating the Mac to at home/light use, at least that is what happened with my kids who are a CPA and a lawyer.

Smart move. I did the same just for the piece of mind that an accident would get the laptop fixed quickly and for a fixed cost.
