Sequoia/Redwood.

Mavericks was about power/performance/speed, so the powerful Maverick waves make sense.

Yosemite was about a bold redesign, and unification, so Yosemite makes sense.

Apple will definitely want to re-affirm everyone that OS X is here to stay, and what better way than to name it after the tree that has stood the test of time?

You know...

They could tick off a certain company in Round Rock, Texas, by calling the next release "Del". ;)

After all, The Del is in San Diego, and has a good 125 year history, if not longer.

But on the other side of that, they probably don't want to deal with the stigma that the other place has of their computers crashing a couple of weeks after the warranty expires.

We went from big cats to places in California, with Mavericks to Yosemite. What do you think Apple has planned for OS 10.11?

stop with those words no one can pronounce!

everyone I know pronounces "Yosemite" like jose as in Joseph and mite like dynamite.
Yosemite YO SEM' IT TEE means Bear in the Awaneecee language. How's that for trivia?

I chose Sierra, but I imagine Tahoe.

I'm OS X Tahoe with a snowy background image. They won't openly say it, but the snow will be a wink to Apple fans alluding to Snow Leopard.

I think OS X Mojave is unlikely, it would draw too many comparisons to Microsoft's Mojave experiment (i.e. Windows Vista marketing). On the other hand I like OS X Redwood :).
