    Hi Folks,

So being a sculptor who works with e-waste a bit, it occurred to me to have a look through my collection of old PCBs & motherboards (which includes the innards of a number of iMacs and laptops) to see if there was a WIFI card that might fit my 2009 dual. The machine already has bluetooth, which I assume is a separate chip. The wifi cards I've recovered are:

    AR5BXB72 (B,G,N)
    BCM94311MCAG (A,G)
    BCM94321MC (A,B,G,N)

Anyone know if any of these would work, and which is likely to give the best /most reliable performance?

    thanks,

May be you should consider the MVC card which will give your 4,1 802.11ac as well.

If they were in stock, I'd consider it - but honestly the main reason was so that Maps could get a geolocation for route planning, and in case of thunderstorms to get an air gap to my modem - power is already through a sacrificial lightning arrestor in the (3-phase capable) fusebox.

    How about BCM94322MC?

I was researching and I found BCM94322MC, it is cheap but I want something which uses all three wires. Any suggestion for that?

What is all 3 wires going to get you? The installation guide for the machine lists wire C as not used.

There's a 3 wire card I have - the Atheros AR5BXB72, but it only does B/G/N, and from what small amount of research I've done, would seem to be problematic.
