aw s7 45mm stainless and steel silicone strap vs aw s7 41mm stainless steel and milano steel strap vs aw s9 44mm aluminium.
Which one would you choose? They're all pretty much the same price.

I genuinely don’t understand posts like this. Just choose what you want. It does not matter what anybody else thinks. No one is going to give you a right or wrong answer because a right or wrong answer does not exist. Again, just get what you want.
I don't know much about apple watches. That's why I wanted to consult people.

You don’t need to know anything about watches. Just choose the combination that you like. It’s completely personal and subjective. There is nothing objective about it.

I promise you I’m not trying to be funny. But you get what you like the look of.

I've read people say that stainless steel is more durable than aluminum but aluminum has always been what I've chosen and it's always been just fine.

I wouldn't get hung up on the band too much. There's some great third party versions that are way cheaper.

In their defense stainless steel vs aluminum can be a confusing choice.

If I were getting my first one, I’d get one of the Black Friday deals. The aluminum S9 45mm on Amazon is $70 off. That’s less than what I paid on Apple even with my veteran discount. I’ve had four aluminum ones and they’ve all held up very well.

I'd go with the aluminium too. It will scratch more easily than the SS but be careful with it and you're unlikely to have issue. You'll see comments on here that it will scratch if you breathe on it but that's a bit of an exaggeration. I wore mine through Tough Mudder and it came through unscathed. I'm careful, for sure, but it's made to be used.

I’m spoiled by the stainless models and other premium case options, but the S9 has some noticeable upgrades, more so than S7 to S8. Can’t really go wrong with any of them.

For the technology inside the watch, it's the same, except for the jump between the s7 and the s9.

aw s7 45mm stainless and steel silicone strap vs
aw s7 41mm stainless steel and milano steel strap vs
aw s9 44mm [sic: should be 45?] aluminium.

The only TECHNOLOGY difference between the S7 and the S9 is the battery life. The temperature features are used for cycle tracking for family planning purposes. For the S9 there is a "gesture control" feature, however a very similar feature exist on the S7 as an accessibility feature.

For the stainless steel vs. aluminum, that's a style and money choice.

I'd get the S9, just because it's newer and will be supported longer.
I would get the S9 too as it is newer.

Personally I wouldn’t choose stainless steel because it’s more expensive. I like the looks but not at that expense, but you might think differently

These comments are great advice OP and I've had a similar experience with durability with aluminum. My watch gets banged around a bit and still looks almost new. S9 also has some nice QoL features over the S7 like more storage, brighter display, on-device-siri, tap to click, and crash detection which should make your overall experience better for the next few years.

That’s not really true. This is a pretty decent article that sums up most of the changes.

Agreed, that's not correct at all. Having on device Siri was a big quality of life improvement for me going from 7 to 9 since a lot of the time I have crappy cell coverage. I can do things such as a start a workout immediately now.

The vein of things to talk about in an Apple Watch discussion board is not as rich as you’re acting like it is. Why not just go read another thread?

Anyways, I would go with the Series 9. I think it has enough over the 7. If this was a 7 vs 8 it would be a different discussion.

I agree SS looks better, but it's also heavier. So the only SS AW I've owned was a gen 1. Of course I use an Ultra 2 apple watch which is heavy too, so it's not that much of a problem. :)
