If there was an LTE model mini right now, i probably wouldve stuck with the smaller screen mini but now the lack of a full color spectrum bothers me and it didnt before I came to this forum. I definitely see what people are talking about. In any case what is more important to you? To me its a typical pick your poison type scenario.

I would try the Mini and see if the screen bothers me. The screens of my iPad 2 and Mini 1 never bothered me so I can't imagine how the rMini's screen would impact me in a negative way.

it depends on your usage.. for me, I use it to view photos and movies, so a full colour spectrum would be more important to me, a larger screen is also better for my purpose

The Air still is not as portable and light as the rMini. And if the rMini now has retina and the color gamut is the exact same thing on the prior Mini which people kept, ....
