Guys I need some advice. I want something powerful. I've been using a G4 iBook for the last 10 months, the 1.33 12" and I find the G4 dog slow so a Duo would be more than welcome! The 1GB RAM is ok, but sometimes I do hear churring of the disk which is annoying, considering the disk is very slow (4200rpms)..

The iBook was my first Mac, now I can move to something more chique!

Bearing in mind:

1. ATM my hard drive usage is around 42GB, I have 18GB Free.
2. I plan to stick Vista on this baby in the future so I don't know if a 60GB would be enough for me
3. I need to use 'Power Hungry' stuff like Garageband/iWeb which crawl on the iBook.
4.I get 3 years guarantee with the notebooks as I am a Uni Undergrade, (Under H/E Nat Agreement). So I will probably keep this for 3 years as its not as unbearable to use a Core Duo as it is a G4 (plus windows capability etc.)

Which would you recommend me buy and why?

Here are the models (both custom built on Apple):

1.83Ghz Core Duo/1GB RAM/80GB HDD/Combo Drive £737/$1387
2.0Ghz Core Duo/1GB/80GB HDD/Super Drive £865.82/$1628

Get a Refub MBP for what the hight end MB would be... you plan to use it for 3 years you need to think you graphic card might not support the new eye candy in 10.6 or 10.7(if you still using it then)
