Hi,
We live in Thailand - I recently bought myself an iPhone 11, my previous phone was an SE and my wife is still on her SE. Her phone is now broken and she needs a new one but she says that the iPhone 11 is too expensive for her (I would just get that one).

So, question - Which phone should she buy? When does the new SE hit the Thailand market? Should she wait or should she buy the XR? or which other iPhone model?

You mentioned the word ‘expensive’, maybe you should base your decision of what you can actually afford. I’m not sure what the pricing Is in Thailand, but in terms of actually purchasing between both phones, I’d probably consider the new SE giving everything in offers with the A13 SoC.

I expect OP can afford it. Wife probably just thinks the 11 is a waste of money for her usage.

Dunno how reliable these sites are but estimates are 11,000-13,000 Baht for SE (2020) 64GB. Dunno if Apple has released worldwide release dates yet, either.

Yes can afford it but she doesn't want it because she deems it too expensive.

She use Instagram, Whatsapp and lots of pictures - she needs space as currently on 16gb SE - I got 128gb on my iPhone 11 to never run out of space again as on my old SE was always deleting apps etc to make space.

So yeah, I think the new SE would be nice but don't know when it will be out here - any ideas? And if it's too long a wait should she get the XR?

Get the XR - it has a better front camera along with the other benefits of a bigger display and battery.

If your not sure when the new SE will release there then yes get the XR. Or give her your 11 and get yourself the 11 Pro if the benefits are there for you.

I think now, any iPhone will be a great purchase from the line up just depends really on tailoring the features to the individuals needs and budget.

Based on that info, I’d still consider the iPhone SE. Hard pass on the XR, I find that Some females don’t like the larger/heavier iPhones for some reason, but that’s just from my perspective. Again, it comes down to the size.

But as another member mentioned, Apple has staggered releases,I’d say it’s dependent when Thailand is actually deemed to receive the SE.

OT: I was supposed to be traveling to Thailand in a week’s time, but can’t now thanks to COVID was really looking forward to partying there, lol
