Which phone should I get?

I'm considering three phones in this order (top most convincing):

    Sony Xperia Z5 Premium (£629 - 32GB)
    Nexus 6P (£579 - 128GB)
    Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ (£669 - 64GB)

I really want to like the 6P, with it's Samsung Super AMOLED display and its stellar battery size, but the early adoption for USB-C throws me off, and the price is ridiculously overpriced compared to US prices, even with sales tax added on.

I also dislike the S6 Edge+'s battery size, Touchwiz somewhat, lack of 128GB storage option/microSD slot, and am not too fond of the curved display.

The Z5 seems like the best all rounder, and the only thing I'm concerned with is the early adoption for UHD, especially with the SD810, the IPS display vs AMOLED, and that it's a little slower than the S6 Edge+ in speed tests. I also DESPISE how Sony release new flagships every 6-7 months, as you never really get a huge upgrade, however the Z5 Premium seems like a beast of a phone.

I would appreciate your thoughts on which phone should be the best, thanks.

I just hate how the Nexus 6P is ridiculously priced, while the Sony Xperia Z5 range's price is expensive, but the cheapest in the UK/EU, rather than the US.

I was thinking of the Z5.....but many say its underwhelming. Screen isn't great tbh

Yeah, IPS isn't as good as AMOLED in most aspects (except for color accuracy). 1080p does a lot to save battery life though.

The Guardian's review is really biased though, as it says 34 hours of usage is underwhelming - which may not live up to the 2-day battery life claim, but is WAY better than most flagships, including the iPhone 6S and the Galaxy S6.

Amoleds are better in colour accuracy these days too.

Edge+ the best all rounder IMO

No lag on my Note 5, so I'd say it's the same user experience on the edge plus. Battery life, while nowhere as good as on the iPhone 6/6S plus, is pretty decent and charges up fairly quick...but yes, it could better. Far from being horrific though.

The Nexus 6P sounds good for you. If you don't have a problem with stock Android, go for it. USB-C should be alright, and I know the price is ridiculous compared to the US prices, but don't let that put you off. It's still cheaper than the other two, and it doesn't have most of their drawbacks.
    Hope that helps.

Can't go wrong with the Sony or the nexus p.

If you wanted a Samsung s6, you should wait. Rumor is Samsung is going to introduce the new s7 in Jan or February, the closer we get to the new year the cheaper the s6 will get.

I'm an iPhone user but I think the edge+ has a very nice screen but with that in mind I'd wait for z5 premium just to see what that 4K screens gonna be like....!

What downsides does the Z5 premium have? I heard it ran at 1080p only, with 4k when there is compatible media. Only downside I can think of is the IPS screen?

Nexus 6P is the only one I would even consider out of that lineup. I am a Nexus whore though..

Have the S6 Edge+ since last week and always get around 5 hours SOT with almost everthing on except bluetooth and 60% brigthness most of the time. I didn't encouter any lag, sometimes it reloads apps far often than my Air 2, but that is definitely no lag.

Did you even use the phone or are you just a TW hater?!

I definitely reccommend the S6 Edge+, display, design, build quality, camera, wireless and rapid charging whats not to love except of price:D

Z5 Premium because of micro-sd slot. I hate OEM's killing that feature like removable battery. But most our decisions is based on short-term it seems. Or that's what OEM's want us to do to constantly upgrade. Sony is just as guilty with it too with their biannual flagship releases. But I like Z5P because of micro-sd esp since you can buy 64 gb cards for less than $30 now. Cloud services and streaming isn't a good enough answer compared to actual hardware storage.

I'd vote for the Z5 premium. I happen to really like the IPS screen. I've found I like them more than AMOLED to be honest. Everyone has their own preference.

However, the SD card is definitely also a great benefit in my eyes. I've still got my Note 3 and didn't get the 5 for this lack of feature.

Well I don't know about you, but the screen is a deal breaker for me. If you prefer AMOLED over IPS, I don't think you would regret going for the AMOLED option. But if it's not a big deal, then you should think about glass vs metal, fingerprint scanner placement, software, etc.

Get the Z5p or Edge+. Lifes too short to settle for cheapness.

The Nexus 6P with 128GB is cheaper than the Z5 Premium. There's no point of paying that much for an expandable phone when there are phones with more storage than most people will ever need.

Why not add the LG V10 to the mix. Specs are comparable, but it has removable storage and expandable battery.
