I'm just saying that he could have something better while looking for something worse. I'm not saying that PowerPCs are bad, though. But no one could deny that the Intel ones are way better.

Better - a computer that performs faster than the opposed computer, and has higher scores in benchmarks.
I love the design of that Mac - I wonder why apple abandoned that design so quickly. The G5 iMac is basically the flat panel iMac that we see now (for the most part). Its a great design - if I had the room, I'd search ebay for one.
I have a G4 cube, but that needs a monitor, so its just sitting in my closet at the moment.
Mac Mini 2010 GB 2.66 3613
Mac Mini 2010 GB 2.4 3308
Mac Mini 2011 GB 2.3 5841 (No Optical Drive)
Mac Mini 2011 GB 2.5 6311 (No Optical Drive)
PM G5 Quad GB 2.5 3319
So by your Logic really anything 2010 or older ought to be replaced because it's just not fast enough. Only one of those computers can take 5 internal drives, has 2 Ethernet ports, optical out for audio, and PCIe expansion.
Mini's have optical out and the G5 does not have PCIe. Technically the 2011 mini can support PCIe with a thunderbolt adapter. If PCIe was a requirement, your statement is a fail. buying a 1200$ thunderbolt rackmount for a mini would also be very stupid IMHO.
Which design?
The one I could have bought? XDSorry, the G4 iMac - that is such a classic design.

The quad G5 does have PCIe. So your statement is a fail.
The late 2005 G5's do have PCIe and all PowerMac G5's have optical out. Not that funky mini-TOSlink kind, but the AV standard optical out.
