I never had the pleasure of owning a Mac with a PowerPC processor. I didn't get a Mac until 2006. I thought the lamp-style iMac was neat, but I didn't get one. What I think is odd is Apple made the switch to Apple Silicone because the performance per watt on RISC is so much better, but PowerPC was also RISC and it was less efficient than Intel?

Well, a processor being RISC or CISC isn't the end all be all of performance/watt.

The later PowerPC chips were pretty hot, had problematic water cooling. Not sure why this was the case. Circuit design is much smaller now, in the 2-5 nanometer range, while PowerPC had a much larger process.
