So, I have been messing around with the 16" MBP for a couple of weeks, and I still can't decide on the resolution to run the display at.

I'm guessing there is a lot of tyranny of the defaults here, so I'll add a poll.

I tend to run more space because I love the added real estate. The 16" is really big for a laptop and I love to be able to get all the space I can out of the laptop.

What do you run your MacBook Pro at?

I run it at the highest resolution (more space). I do a lot of 3D rendering and video editing and it’s always nicer not having to scroll so much.

Highest resolution. Then I go into Finder -> View Options and make both the font and icons the maximum size -- in list view, of course. Large icon view is for noobs.

I am between the default and the 2x scaling. I think that the default offers the best compromise between space and quality.

I installed QuickRes and run at 1680 x 1050 which isn't a resolution available in the display UI. There are other resolution-switching tools available.

I don't have a 16 yet but I run 2048x1280 to 2560x1600 on my MBP 13. I often run 2560x1600 (or 1440 don't recall) on the MBP 15.
