Quite frankly, I prefer the MBA 13" screen to the MBP 13" screen by a LONG shot.

In fact, I find the MBP 13" screen pretty lame: awfully low resolution (we're not in 2007 anymore!), plus it's ridiculously glossy which is very annoying while working outdoors, or even sitting next to a lamp. I hate glossy screens.

Sure, the colors might be more vibrant in the MBP than in the MBA, but low resolution+glossiness are a deal breaker for me.

MBA vs. MBP 13" displays
- MBA has better resolution (significant advantage)
- MBP has better colours (colour gamut to be more specific)
- MBP might have slightly better viewing angles
- MBP is extremely glossy, because it has a glossy display AND a glass in front of the display which causes horrible glare. MBA has a glossy display too, but it's much less distracting, because there's no glass.

MBP 15" hi-res matte
- Clearly the best display of the lot, as it has all the upsides: good resolution, good colours and a non-reflective matte display.

Boy, do I agree with you on the 15" Hi Res!

the resolution on 13 pro is garbage i agree.. but the 15" inch screen has the same resolution as MbA 13" however the 15 looks alive and more vibrant than the 13" . one of the reasons why i chose to sacrifice portability over productivity.

one mans "alive and more vibrant" is an other man's "too glossy and over saturated". Its a subjective evaluation but I do not find that the MBA’s screen hinders my productivity in the slightest compared to my 15" MBP. I could use either all day long, preferring the MBA's screen over the MBP's screen, in most situations. Watching video is about the only scenario where I'd prefer the MBP, but watching video is pretty low on my list of priorities for a laptop.

So much mis-information is this post. That extra vibrant color on the 13" MacBook pro is from the glass over the display. As gloss adds contrast. One isn’t a crappy display. Truth is they are both great screens and is money well spent. Thank God apple makes great products because you guys nit pic every little thing.

Also this sharper text comment irks me on the 11" MacBook Air. Why because it’s a 7 Pixel per inch difference. Come on do you wake up every day and count your pixels to make sure Apple did not short you one. lol

Next this gradient thing is just not even worth mentioning. If you do not like it take it back. Only about .5 percent of people have this problem. The rest of us love the Air.

If you are reading this to decide between a pro or air. Go to the Apple store and choose for yourself. Most on here will tell you anything because they own the other.
