Why are you concerned about the processor? It is just as good as the latest processors in the new 15 inch MacBook pros. Plus it is a quad core so a lot more powerful than any 13 inch. Go for last years model, save a lot of money and get much better performance.

Hi Motime, thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Im worried that the 15inch 2015 model wont have as good a battery life as the 2016 model, because the new processor is more power efficient
[doublepost=1480437240][/doublepost]Im hoping the 15inch 2015 model can last at least 6 hours on light usage

Drop the lcd brightness to ~80%, close tabs and apps that aren't necessary, and you'll get close to 6hrs if not more under light usage.

Guys, besides the size and weight, are there any other disadvantages that the 15 inch MBP has (compared to 13 inch mbp 2016)

Of course no USB c or tb3 on the old machine.

The new machine has a better brighter screen with a better colour gamut.

Last year's model actually has better battery life than this year's model. You can easily get 9 plus hours of light websurfing and video playback, it is excellent. I wouldn't waste your money on the new machines. Also the processor on the new 15 inch Mac's offer the same performance as last year's model even though it has processors thst are years old. As I said when it comes to 13 vs 15 processors there is no comparison, 15 is way faster.

If you want portability go for 13. If you want a lot more power and better value for your money then buy last year's refurbished.
