Going to order a new strap from the Apple Store, either the Milanese or Leather Loop.

For those of you that own one or the other or both, what do you like or dislike? Any tips on which one to get? Wish I could afford both, but only 1 for now.

Another factor would be which 3rd party one would be better buy? Meaning I'll spend the money buying directly from Apple on the strap that is tougher to reproduce.

Thanks!

I was initially interested in the LL. I like the bright blue. But they way I see it, if the Milanese becomes worn you can fix that quite easily with Polish and some buffing. But once leather is worn/ ripped/ torn that's it. Game over.

I have the leather loop and am considering the ML. IMO one is far dressier than the other so they will create completely different looks. The ML will be "evening wear" and the leather loop will be daytime wear. I know my LL is REALLY comfortable. JMO

PS- I think the leather loop will be easier to copy and still look decent because of the way the adapter is integral to the band. The knockoff ML loops will always look bad where it connects, IMO. Steel or aluminum adapters need to be perfect, imo, because they match the material of the watch.

I have both. I love both. You should get both.

In all seriousness though, the Milanese loop is more versatile in that you can wear it while exercising (while I don't recommend it), it can get wet and it can be both casual and formal.

I got the ML first. Loved it. The LL is more of a casual look. But if I had to pick one, ML

Leather loop for sure. Use leather oil before you use it and it will last for years even with daily use.

Is your AW, Aluminum or Stainless Steel?

I have the Milanese Loop. It's my daily wear band, swap it for the white sports band for exercising.

The Milanese Loop is just so comfortable, it's much finer than I had expected - like woven fabric than heavy steel. It's actually lighter than the sports band. I like it because it lets my wrist breathe, as someone who only recently began wearing a watch again after so many years without one I found that I'd get skin irritation from leather or synthetic bands, even the sports band if I didn't wash it right after exercising. This is just so soft but strong and airy.

The magnet is very strong indeed and there's no chance of it slipping off my wrist as it can't completely open out. It's nice to have the ability to adjust it very finely throughout the day too.

Definitely gets my vote. The ability to shrug off water without a problem is handy too, the leather straps don't take kindly to water.

Have had the leather loop for 2 weeks now and love it! Previously had the ML and although it is a fine piece of kit, I found that I had to re-adjust the band throughout the day as it was becoming loose.

I've given the LL a nice coat of neatsfoot oil (on both sides) and Tis thing now rocks! Soft, supple and the grain is showing more...plus the 'phantom taps/haptics' have reduced significantly given its now softer

Love this thing!

How can you say it will last for years when it has only been available for 3 months. No one knows for sure how long it will last. I have it in blue, but can not be guaranteed now long it will last.

Milanese Loop- Never tried the Leather Loop (because there's no 38mm version), but the Milanese is my only band, and the only one I want. I wear it every day, and it looks great with anything. It's thin and breathable, super-comfortable, relatively lightweight, and probably the most durable band that Apple makes.

I did not enjoy the LL. the magnets shifted against each other and cause "phantom taps". I had to Apple a strip of duct tape between where the strap latched to itself which eliminated the problem completely. For $150, not needed.

I actually stuck with the stock black fluoromaster band. Didn't have to worry about getting the watch (or more specifically the leather loop) wet either.

Any issues with the Milanese band scratching the SS casing of the watch? Seen some reports somewhere.

Milanese gets my vote and I have both straps, leather and milanese. I don't have any scratches on my SS from my ML either.

Went to the apple store last night and tried on both the LL and ML. Completely blown away by the ML which I ended up buying. Feels great, looks great. LL is nice but in my opinion not worth the 150$. Hoping for LL knock-off band that will fit my wrist.

I absolutely love my ml. I personally don't think it's just for dressier occasions. It's a great all day band. I haven't had any issues with needing to adjust mine throughout the day. I do have a fake leather loop ordered so I'm excited to see how that feels as well.

just bought the milanese. does it really scratch your mac if so it could be annoying during class
