I want to get a tablet that I can write on and use screen recording software to record what I am doing. Ideally, I would get a Surface Pro because it will allow me to install full versions of Windows software including screen recording software, plugins, etc. though they are a bit pricey.

Are there any other tablets out there that will do the same thing for less money?

    Thanks.

perhaps a atom based tablet would be cheaper than the surface pro. Not sure how well those desktop programs will run on it but check out the Lenovo thinkpad tablet 2 its about $600 and has a digitizer for drawing and comes with full windows 8
