kingston uni
Me and my flat mate both go to kingston uni and take the graphic design degree course. we both love it and for us there was no other choice, kingstons rep within the industry is massive and we have one to one tutorials with graphic designers every so often. its well known that its a hard course to get into, when i applied there was 7/8 people for every place so the competition is high. I think they look for ideas based portfolios, not so much finished pieces but developments and a wide range variety. The tutors are wicked and they all work in the industry and are passionate about what they teach..sometimes a bit to passionate which is allways funny.
The campus for the art college is along the river side and every one sits outside and has a few drinks which are really cheap and the bar is right next to the first year graphic studio..which is allways handy hehe. The atmosphere is great and all the graphic kids know every one else on the course 1st 2nd and 3rd year. There is allways plenty of work to be done and we rarely have a day off ..but we wouldnt have it any other way seen as we are paying £3000 a year..Graphic students regulary win awards and large sums of cash and ive done things here that i would never of thought i could push my self to do...i have nothing bad to say about kingston its a top course and a top uni ..i just need to point out that a foundation in art is really important and in the interview you just got to be confident and know what your talking about. Dont put work in your portfolio that you cant positivly talk about.
hope thats helped 😱
