Which unlimited data would you rather have att unlimited data or vzw unlimited data?

I am torn at which unlimited data to keep now that i have both and need to go down to one cell phone to save money for Grad School.

VZW unlimited data:
VZW has a Better More consistent 3G network, no holes, no dropped calls, no dead zones , althought the max speed of the network is around 3.1/3.2 Mbps.
VZW has a better throttling policy for unlimited data users as they only throttle folks connected to a congested cell tower, once the congestion stops, the throttle stops. LASTLY, NO THROTTLE CURRENTLY FOR 4G LTE :)

att unlimited data:
Faster HSPA+ - hard hard throttle 3GB but like i said Fast HSPA+

Which would you keep?

I would prefer to have unlimited data for the network that provides the best coverage in my local area.

Are you stating this as a fact or is this your assumption?

AT&T because I don't get Verizon data while at home though I can make calls.
This is the reason I still have my AT&T line activated as well as my Verizon.

I think the first question you have to ask yourself is which provider gives you the best coverage of where you are going to use it. Then go from there

So does Verizon.

VZW doesnt throttle they do network optimization,
as they only throttle(network optimization) folks connected to a congested cell tower, once the congestion stops, the throttle (network optimization) stops. LASTLY, NO THROTTLE or NETWORK OPTIMIZATION CURRENTLY FOR 4G LTE :)

Both are pretty good as i constantly travel from my home in Cali to Dallas and back.
att is headquartered in Dallas and VZW has huge offices in both places

Well, since LTE iPhone is not out yet, I'll choose att. Because verizon 3G is super laggy slow in my area. However Verizon LTE rocks. Time will tell how att LTE performs here. But for the current iPhone if I had to make a choice I'll take att.

Fortunately though, I need not make a choice. I was lucky enough to get unlimited on both att & verizon:cool:

Do you often use more than 3GB a month in data? If not, then the throttling doesn't make a difference and you should go with which one has the better service.

If you do, then go with the one who doesn't hard throttle you as soon as you pass that threshold.

So does Verizon.

They throttle in areas of heavy congestion and only during times of that heavy congestion. That is VERY different from ATT's stance (which seems to keep changing) of throttle after 3GB regardless where you are or when you are using your data. This is coming from a person who has both ATT and Verizon in the household (work and personal lines).

EDIT: Apparently this was said already. My bad.

The OP is like a walking advertisement for Verizon judging by many of his previous posts and threads.
Obviously go with whatever you feel is better for your situation.
We know, Verizon is so much better than AT&T and talking and using data sucks etc......

I got both providers..................

Hey what about Sprint unlimited data?!?!? .... I kid ;):D

AT&T, because it's faster. I generally use less than 150MB a month so I'm not concerned about being throttled.

Additionally, I dislike CDMA technology.

Verizon only offers 2GB/month on new contracts. I only have 2 GB. There is no choice for 3GB data as of this date.

Maybe you should read the thread title. He has unlimited data plans on Verizon and At&t. We all know At&t will throttle around 3GBs so if he goes over that regularly then it would be smarter for him to stay on Verizon.

I did read the thread title and was responding to the post about Verizon offering 3GB.

Apparently on my first month with Verizon, I used more than 2GB and was charged $10 for an additional GB. This was in January and the charge just showed up on my bill this month. Verizon erased the charge since it was delayed all these months.

I have no idea how I used that much since I don't even get 3G data at home. I do like the idea of being charged extra for more data rather than being throttled if I ever have the chance to use more than 2GB.

I never said anything about Verizon offering 3GBs of data.
