Apple iPhone 7 Plus (AT&T/T-Mobile/Global/A1784) 32, 128, 256 GB
Apple iPhone 8 Plus (Verizon/Sprint/China/A1864) 64, 256 GB

From a semantics viewpoint, there is not an "unlocked" model per se in the US. When buying a phone at full price from Apple (ie. No upgrade/installment progams), the phone is unlocked, be it the GSM models (ie. ATT & T-Mobile) or the world phone (GSM & CDMA; Verizon, Sprint). Apple's sim-free option will be the world phone, which has the Qualcomm modem which many think is better than the Intel modem in the GSM phone.

If buying the phone from some other source, especially off Craigslist, eBay, etc, you might be buying a device that might still be carrier locked, no matter the model number. If I recall correctly, if buying from Best Buy, the phones are the world model, but, get locked to a carrier.

A1661 would be the 7+ world phone.

So I’ll buy the att full price phone 7 plus which is model A1784
