I bought some used iPhones while they were on sale at GameStop on their B2G1 deal. Net after taxes/trades/promo, here's two that I have and will plan to hang on to one of them. I only use about 30gb space so both have plenty of capacity for my needs. Both truly are in flawless condition and fine per Swappa IMEI check. The 7+ has 10 battery cycles and the X has only 3 cycles. 7+ is no longer under the original Apple Warranty and the X has 10 months left.

Not sure if I will upgrade to the next iPhone in the fall so it's possible I hang onto for a year. Of these two specific phone and at these net costs, which is the better buy? Whichever I don't keep, I'll probably sell on Craigslist or to a friend. Thanks!

Which do you prefer?

Both pretty great deals imo

Also what are your storage needs? 64 and 256 are pretty wide apart

I’d go with x

Depends if you want OLED. Also, if you don’t mind the bigger bezels. Depends on how much storage you need. Both are good deals with good hardware.

My own opinion: I upgraded from a 7+ to the X. I’ve never looked back. I love the small bezels and the OLED display. Battery life is the same as my 7+, if not a little better.

For form factor, not sure yet on the X. I did used to love the "regular" 7? Then using the plus size, I did get used to and liked the wider phone for texting and viewing photos (good aspect ratio), but a little bulky in jeans or shirt pocket. X feels great in my hand, but need to get used to I suppose since a different screen ratio, smaller than the plus and kinda in-between the old 7 and 7+ size. I do miss the thumb button, but suppose I can get used to the face ID thing.

That is a good point! I am not sure for my own use how the battery life will compare, but sounds good enough on the X. I definitely saw improvement back when I went from the 7 to a 7+ and don't want a drop off since the 7+ is what I have become accustomed to.

The iPhone X is best on everything except for the storage capacity but the warranty may come in handy.
[doublepost=1530759819][/doublepost]I recommend the X that way you will not inadvertently tap the home button while using it.
[doublepost=1530760488][/doublepost]It looks like iPhone X won a batter test when compared to 6s+ 7+ and 8+

I am a case free user. Will never use a phone with a case. All are hideous to look at and touch.

Thus I’m forced to use the 7+. I actually just bought a new one opting out of the glass-backed options in the x and 8.

Depending how long you plan on keeping your iPhone, I would look at the future performance of both of these phones in terms of iOS updates. I think iPhone X will perform stronger with future iOS updates considering the iPhone 7 A10 Fusion will now be two years old this September with the upcoming release of iOS 12.

And, overall with the future Face ID being Apples premise for security, it’s likely something to start getting used to if you ever opt for the latest iPhones in the future.

One thing I saw when iOS 12 comes out (which is good for my kids' phones) is that it will allow 2 face ID users. I currently use one of the allotted 5 fingerprints on their phones for me so I can access if needed. Adding a 2nd face ID is great as a parent though.

Well, been trying out the X for a couple days. Taking some getting used to. I do miss the thumb button. Size is great though. Why can't they allow for zoom mode though like on the Plus models? So much wasted space on the home screen and my 44 year old eyes would appreciate a little bigger icons and text! :)
