I used to turn my iPod Touch to the left so the home button was on the right, and I still do with my iPhone, but when I have my headphones plugged in, obviously I have to turn it the other way.

I've been trying to keep the volume button on top because it's the shutter button. I do like that feature.

I did that at first until I noticed my videos and photo thumbnails were upside down on my Windows machine. It wouldn't have to be this way if all apps and OSes used the photo/video metadata to set the orientation, but alas, they don't.

Regards,
Tom

Yeah same here. Except I just tested it and they come out right side up. Idk if 5.1 fixed or something.

iPhone - home button on the right
iPad - home button on left, only bc I have a smart cover & I don't like it hanging

i suppose part of this depends on which hand you hold your phone in. it feels a bit awkward to turn the phone so that the home button is on the right when i hold the phone in my left hand.

it feels like i'd have to hand the phone off to the right hand then turn it. then hand it back to the left. whereas turning it so the home button is on the left its more like the right hand is just helping hold it once its turn to the side...

i'm not sure if that made sense to anyone else. made sense when i thought of it.

I always make sure the home button is on the left. My OCD always favors the left side of things... as well as odd numbers.

On another note is really annoys me when a dev sets the app to only landscape in one direction. open a new game, go to play...the bloody thing is upside down.
