You need 64bit to recognize 4GB RAM.

Sorry i didnt get you..What do you mean by to recognize 4 GB RAM..so you mean the 32 bit Win 7 wont work at all on my MBP???

The 32bit will work, but your system will only recognize 3GB of RAM. Your system has 4GB.

But guys i had known that the issue of recognizing comes for RAM more than 4 GB..may be i was wrong..:)i read somwhere wen i googled for the answer that if somone has more than 4 GB RAM then he/she should install 64bit edition so as to fully utilize the resources :)
is it true??

4GB or more, thats including 4GB

Just install the 64bit version. From what I've experienced it is quite stable (for Windows). With Vista 64bit there were *some* problems, but with 7 there are no real stability differences.
Some games have 64bit patches (Far Cry, UT2004) or 64bit versions (Crysis for example). Those games will run quite a bit better. (On my pc I get as much as 20fps higher)

BTW, if you install the 32bit edition, you would have access to only 32 billion bits of memory, which is about 3.7 gigabytes. So it's not like you lose 1GB, it's more like 281MB.

If you install Win7 32bit with Win7 you have access to roughly 2.8g of ram. The 3g switch enabled minus the 256mb for the Intel on board shared RAM.

A Win7 64 bit install with give you 4g minus again, the 256m Intel on board graphics shared memory. So, roughly 3.7 to 3.8g.

There is no reason to not install Win7 64bit. It is very stable on my i7 with 4g. I don't game, but have had no driver issues with my Win Apps. IMO, Win7 64bit runs better on my i7 then friends HP, Dell's, and Toshiba's.:apple:

Nebody here know how COD Modern Warfare 2 will work on Win 7 64-bit on my 13 inch 2.66 Ghz MBP ??..like will it be playable..??
I downloaded a 11.54 GB version for mac(cider port) and it was total ****...!!!

Your graphics card isn't all that, so I don't think it'll look all that good honestly.

i played COD Modern warfare..it was awesome with medium settings with AA set to 2X...n dat too mac version!!!
so i hoped i cud play COD MW2 better in Win 7...but newayz let me install n see..may be i will post a viseo ..thanks !!!:)

Similar Question

I had a very similar question, but it is actually about which version would work better with parallels 5. I am going to be using windows mostly for one OCR program(Control Center 3 - which I need to use for office work every two or three days) and MS Office word processing. Which version (64 or 32) would be best for me considering- How much memory is going to be used up in my hard drive, RAM, basic performance, and compatibility. Thanks in advance!
