Which would you buy?

But the unibodies don't crack here like mine did. ;)

Plastic cracks, aluminum dents. Just don't put it in a situation where those things can happen and you'll be golden.

Buy the 2 GHz model, and buy a Hard Drive from somewhere else as it's super easy to upgrade it yourself. You could get a Seagate Momentus 500 GB, 7,200rpm for less than the Apple upgrade or better yet, the 500 GB 5,400rpm version sounds like it would suit your needs, and be almost half the price of the 320 GB Apple upgrade. Here's a linky. 2 GBs of RAM would be plenty for you.

Ok, one last question: I have office and Illustrator on my TiPowerbook but no disks. Is there anyway to swap them over to my new unibody using the setup that you go through when you get a new Macbook.

Thanks

Yep, the set up assistant gives you the option of transferring all of your data from your ti powerbook to the macbook. I think transfer via Ethernet is the best option in your case. Unless wireless is an option... which only applies to the TC, I think.

I could be wrong, but through the set-up assistant you are also allowed to select the type of files you want to transfer, instead of everything (e.g. applications, files, scripts...). In this case you should be able to transfer just your applications and files seeing as they are the things that you want to save. (I'd go for music and photos too... but its up to you).

Unfortunately, I don't think the set-up assistant is program specific. To just do specific programs I would recommend finding an external HDD and transferring the programs on that. Make sure its USB and not Firewire.

But if I am wrong, I am sure that other MR members will correct me :)
