Can I wonder if you can leave the watch face on? I know it would charge more slowly, but I can see some times that I'd like it to stay on while charging on a stand next to me either in bed or at work.

Nice find… wonder about the face staying on though… I figure there's no way to know for sure, but was interested in others' input.
Thanks for finding that!

The image is ambiguous with reference to the OP. The iPhone will deliver alerts and alarms while the screen is off. The image here shows the watch can do the same but gives no indication if you can leave the screen on perpetually while charging, which would be neat.

I'm not really sure why you'd want a tiny watch face to be on while it is charging. It would strictly be for aesthetic reasons, it's not like you'd be reading that tiny screen which isn't on your wrist. You'd be wearing out the OLED display, and slowing charge time, that is all. Now, an always on display when it isn't charging, but on your wrist, would be much better.

With the right stand, it'd make for a neat little desktop clock. :) and I only plan on having the watch for one year before upgrading (not sure about original poster), so that'd be just fine with me.

Your iphone would make a much bigger one, and you can do that on the iPhone, assuming you want to manually turn the screen off, or adjust it back to a lock timer each time.

That's the rub, isn't it?

Also, plugging and unplugging the phone is more mechanically tedious than the magnetic clip the watch has. Plus, a big draw (for me) of the watch is reducing the amount of times I need to pull my phone out if my pocket. Last, but not least, is the fact that most of the Apple Watch faces are pretty slick looking and are a native part of the device. Not so with the phone.

We've also strayed a bit from the intention of the OP which was 'can this be done?' which is a very different discussion than why (or why not) someone would want to. Clearly some people wouldn't (such as yourself) while others of us might -- part of the beauty of people being able to use it in very different ways according to their wants. :)
