Hi, I've bought the special edition of the Sport Band. After few weeks it change the color to the Yellow. It is called Surprise Edition.

Anyway, I want to change the color for the black one instead so should I ask at Apple Store for a refund? Because I used only water to clean it. And when I saw the yellow stains I've used a little bit of mild soap.

Good grief. I just ordered a white sport band for a loved one. That is disappointing. How long have you had the watch? What type of watch do you have? If it is a watch case they also sell the black one on, they might allow that.

Please note though, the black one gets light grey wear marks where it tucks in and also where the pin inserts, but these are mostly hidden on the underside of the band.

SS edition. I bought it a month ago I think. I've made the first photo a little bit darker than in reality was to make it more noticeable. But you can see the yellow stains with your eye anyway.

I know that those bands change the color or the hue anyway but this is .. well .. something that I didn't expect:) By the way, the white band has the same problem with the inner part, it looks like polished inside. Same as the black one but since it is a white colour it is barely noticeable.

What is the 'special edition'? Other than that my white sport band is just fine even after wearing it to the beach in holidays, sweating and sunscreen on my skin.

That's one of the reasons I went for the SG with black. White rubber rarely stays 100% perfect.

White never going to remain white, though from those images, it seems to indicate a manufacturing failure. I'd look to return it

I want the black band anyway so I might be lucky to get this manufacturing failure.

They sell Special Edition only in Europe in Dresden Germany. But ask at your Apple Store and tell us how it went.

I'm curious, what is special about the special edition white band, it looks like a normal white band to me.

There are only 2 editions of the whites sports strap. The Sports Band with SS pin and the Sports Band Edition with 18K gold pin which is not sold separately (maybe by special order). It looks like the OP is confused.

Ok, so its the pin color as the differentiator, thanks for the info.

Agreed. Looks like the white plastic is almost photo-reactive and the sunlight cause the plastic to yellow. You are right about white, it will never stay as white as it came out of the box.

There was a girl in here months ago with pink dyed hair. Her white band RAPIDLY turned pink from her hair colorant.

Is there anything dyed in your environment or on your person that could be shedding dye onto the watch? I once had a red shirt whose color rubbed off onto everything. Oranges/tangerines can shed dye too. Plants, flowers. Improperly dyed leather clothing or upholstery. Anything like that at work? Self-tanning lotion is another one.

It's definitely a contact thing and not photo sensitivity. Look how the protruding pin has protected the white area around it. The insides of the holes are protected too.

My money's on clothing.

Agree with last post, looks like it has been rubbing on something. It's on the underside so perhaps from desk or clothing as mentioned. Try cleaning it with some cif?

I think the OP was being facetious... in that since he now has a yellowish off-white version of the White Sports Band, it is a "unique/special" edition.

You sound logical. But there is nothing in my environment (home nor work) what could change the color. And clothing is the same. I am wearing short sleeves and mostly light color clothes. White shirts with light blue short jeans. I don't put my hand into the pocket so that's complete mystery for me.

I've found the yellow stain on the part where ... that's hard to explain. I had to dim the light so much to be noticeable on a photo. It looks like a manufacturing failure. That small part on the left. That's the part where the band does not touches my skin. If I lay my hand on a table or some other thing I put it with the face up (of course). Mostly no contact at all.

Had my SS WSB since April 30th and the band is still nice and white. I did get a small ink stain on it but I used toothpaste and an electric toothbrush to remove that with no issues.

Yours might be defective. I've had a SSWSB from day one and it's still super clean and white throughout. I've only used Castile soap and water to clean it.
