I have a white dot right in the middle of the screen on my iPhone 7 Plus. Would Apple replace the screen for this or would they say it is caused by accidental damage? It shows a lot with white and light grey backgrounds.

It's a "Stuck" or dead pixel. You're likely going to have contact Apple for replacement.

It would be a dead pixel so I think Apple might cover it, from my knowledge it isn't often caused like that from accidental damage

Apple will cover it. The OP has no damage to the display. Stuck pixels are primarily a defect in the display over being caused by damage.

As others say, do contact Apple, but if you want a quick fix, sometimes massaging stuck pixels can get them working again. You'll have to apply a fair bit more force than you normally would, but it might help (don't go crazy with pressure either though)

Thanks everyone! I set up an appointment at the Genius Bar. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time driving there for them to tell me they wouldn't replace it as part of the warranty.

Got mine replaced by Apple for free because of one

Didn’t really bother me, more of an attempt to get a new Jet Black phone to get a clean slate

You can rub the pixels out gently as suggested, but I have never observed where they ultimately go away. They usually return.

I got a similar white spot in the top left of my iPhone 6Plus screen,
2 weeks later the screen started lifting the top left part. it seemed the battery was expanding.

I don't know if the spot and battery expansion are related, just saying :)

I got a new and unscratched refurb replacement :)

Well, it was also more of a short term solution. They do usually return with time, although I have had a monitor (I believe it was plasma), where it worked permanently. It was stuck on red. Flashed a bunch of different colours at it really quickly while rubbing it, and it never came back.
