Hello, I keep getting a grey folder with a question mark and white back ground when I try and boot up my MacBook. Any ideas on how I can fix it? I will try a complete restore Saturday when I get home from college.

The problem started when I tried to wake my computer up. The MacBook wouldn't give me a log in screen so I held the power button for forced restart then it happened.

Thanks

You can try clearing your PRAM by holding down Command-Option-P-R keys on boot.

If that doesn't work try repairing the drive using disk utility once you have booted from your install DVD.

Had same problem this week. Went to apple store and they just replaced the disk as apparently it had died, was under warranty still though.
