I bought a space gray (black?) HomePod Mini, and it has a nice pleasant glow on the top indicating that music is being played.

Next I bought a white HomePod Mini, and when music is playing, you can’t tell that there is a light on the top unless you cup your hand around it and look really closely. There is some light, but it’s super faint.

Is anyone else having this issue with a HomePod Mini?

Thanks

He is referring to the HomePod mini and the light does illuminate when playing music. All of mine do and it even says that in the link you’ve provided.

To the OP: there is an ambient light sensor and the illumination can be quite dull depending on the light. If you adjust the ambient light does the brightness of the HomePod mini change? It sounds faulty to me and I would get it swapped out.

I didn’t realize that. It’s a lot brighter upstairs where I have the white mini. Let me play with the ambient lighting and see how that affects the light.
