Hi! My older imac g5 finally went (logic board fried) and dont feel it is worth the hassel of fixing. I bought a 2006 Core2Duo white imac (with the x1600 card) from ebay. It has 2 GB of RAM.

I do have Leopard and was going to install that but I was wondering if it is worth upgrading and putting Snow Leopard on this machine.

Would it benefit from SL at all? I know the x1600 does not reap the benefits of OpenCL or anything like that, but generally speaking would I see any improvement?

Thanks!

I found SL to be faster than Leopard on my daughter's white iMac. You may want to max out the RAM to 3GB. Very little of anything benefits from OpenCL at the moment.
