white imac [replace/upgrade a NVIDIA geforce card]

    hi i was wondering if anyone knows of a good guide that can help me replace/upgrade a NVIDIA geforce 7300 GT ,128 MB ram. the original video card died on me and the mac store is charging me like 600 bucks to replace it >.< and know the video card is not that expensive and a bill of like 500 for repair is just bs

    It is part of the logic board. It's not an easy job.

    I said the same thing there, too. You can't upgrade it or swap it.

    Sorry for digging up an old thread on my first post here... But my iMac's graphics card has died so I've searched google about this and it seems that the 24" iMac(that the poster have(had?)) doesn't have the graphics card integrated on the logic board.

    So in short, you should be able to switch the graphis card on that iMac model. The ones with smaller screens though, you'll have to send it in to Apple.
