    i have a white imac G5.
and i have no idea of the name of the plug the doubles your screen ?

i have one for my macbook but thats a mini-DVI.
    and doesnt match.

i went on the apple website and it only seems to tell me that its some sort of mini VGA.

i looked around ebay for plugs but i am not having any luck.

    Please Help

Apple VGA Display Adapter. Didn't know it off-hand, but Googling "iMac G5 external display" found it instantly.

thanks for that very quick reply.
    :D

would you know if the g5 can do extended desktop ?
    maybe on leopard ?
im currently running 10.4 on it and it seems that everyone so far can only mirror ?

is that due to hardware or OS ?
    thanks

    Not without firmware hacks. No.

Google answered this as fast as I could type "iMac G5 extended desktop" into Google.

    Use Google.

    you need screen spanning doctor
and under 10.4 Tiger it works definitely (had a G5 iMac myself )
    http://www.rutemoeller.com/mp/ibook/ibook_e.html

it is a firmware hack as apple has disabled that feature of screen spanning to sell more PowerMac's back then
