ONE iPhone 3GS owner out of 1,000,000+ reports this "problem," and it gets blog coverage? Who wants to bet he stuck it in the pocket of a brand new pair of heavily-dyed pants that afternoon? :D

This actually happened to me with my 3G, except it was black, so it didn't turn brown.

But I had it plugged in to the car charger and was using GPS when lost, and it got so hot on the back that I thought I could fry an egg on it.

Obviously, I shut the phone down immediately and let it cool for several hours.

They love to run this kinda stuff because all their hyper palm pre kidz get to go beserk and that makes them happy.

It could be an issue on some units. But for it to change colors means that it was going overboard.

Where is the battery located in the phone?
