Actually, as I'm sure you've seen by now, people started receiving their iPhones today.

Maybe I'm the exception to the rule or maybe you are. I just find it hard to believe that after three days of being ok, a system error canceled my order. It seems 98% of everyone who had their order canceled had some apparent reason for getting their order canceled. Be it too many ordered, eligibility being denied, credit/debit cards being declined, failing to accept the terms and conditions, etc. Like I said, maybe I'm the exception and I just was unlucky.

They haven't been able to give me a reason either and when I asked about getting my new order expedited they told me no.

update on cancelled phone

ok so it's been 3 days now and my status still says "in progress". And now the Qty backordered is zero, and qty ordered is one. so that's an improvement. still don't know if i'll receive my phone by tomorrow, which would be great. trying to get this before i leave for a wedding on friday. if i don't get my phone, i don't think my old t-mobile phone will work and i'll be without a phone until monday...

So I received an email from the apple store asking me to place a new order, and reply with both cancelled and new order, and they'd do what they could to expedite.

I was very surprised to receive a shipment notification today, with expected delivery on Monday.

Good luck to everyone else in a similar situation.

When did you send your email to them?

At what time did you receive this? I attempted this two days ago and got this form letter:
"Dear Apple Customer,

Thank you for your recent order with the Apple Online Store.

We are unable to validate that your order is eligible for expedited shipping.

For the most up-to-date information on your order, please visit Apple Order Status at www.apple.com/orderstatus.

Sincerely,
The Apple Online Store"

It seems they are deciding who to give the expedite to or not... So extremely frustrating..

My Husband is thinking the same way:) I don't know about you two, but part of the fun of the new phones is getting the together and playing with them together. He says he many just let his sit in it's little box until I get mine:)

Going to Radio Shack today, they feel they can get me a phone within 2 to 3 days after launch.

I was thinking of doing this as well (and trading in my 3GS while I was there). Do you have any more info?

Then, I received my reply from them:

Mon, 21 Jun 2010 14:30:56 -0700

And shipment notification:

Tue, 22 Jun 2010 22:08:13 -0700

That is good news for you. I think the mailbox is monitored like a queue and it depends on the rep that gets your email. My last email to them was yesterday at 3:00 EST and nothing back.

Apple didn't expedite

Re-ordered from Apple on Wednesday and sent an e-mail asking if they could expedite my order. Got an e-mail this morning saying that since it was AT&T's fault they wouldn't. They are only expediting those orders which the error was on Apple's part. FYI for all of those like me. Guess I'm gonna have to wait.
