I don't see how this implies that the white iPhone would only be released, or released first, in Germany...

Anyway, did Apple initially advertise a white 16 GB iPhone 4? I thought that with previous iPhone iterations, white was limited to the higher-capacity model.

Check your sources again... the german Wikipedia translation (or its own article - is more precise and profound if you just can read it) lacks the "white ****" because - in europe most people are (...guess?) white, so it would make no sense to say the white are superior... You wont accept it but I understand you .
