White iPhone on launch in the UK?

White iPhone 3g AVAILABLE.

The white 16gb iPhone is definitely available in the UK today. I have just been playing with one in the Touchwood Centre (Solihull) Apple Store. I should be getting my own this afternoon when the O2 servers recover from their morning meltdown (DOH!! You'd think that after their website crashed on Monday, they'd be prepared for 25,000 iPhone activations!!). I have no idea whether O2 stores or CW stores will have them.

Having White iPhone's only available through Apple Stores is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard to those with the 1st gen looking for an upgrade !

Honestly, was it really too much to ask for O2 and Apple to actually talk to each other and do some proper market research with existing customers ?

If they're available in plenty numbers in other countries why not the UK ?
Unless it's a really stupid move to restrict numbers in order to generate more demand when the thing is finally released (in which case the numbers will be strangled again no doubt and O2 will **** it up again somehow....)

Consumerism is about choice. Don't advertise that choice if you can't fulfil it Apple.

No, it symbolizes you like the white one. It makes you happy when you look at it. For virginity I would prefer it in pink

Am in Apple Solihull and they have a stack of phones (white) but can't sell them as the electronic system is down. They're awaiting a call from 02 for a workaround but in the hour i've been here - it's not come.

Everyone really annoyed at 02.

yeah.. make sure we blame o2... the apple staff at meadowhall were amazing, wonderful, and the best people at customer service.

i have my white 16gb iphone now, and the activation servers are down... and yes.. they did let us leave without activating it!

Just called up O2 to see what they said about the White iPhone. Personally didn't want to queue up in line for one as I have a perfectly good iPhone here with 2.0.

Anyway convosation went something like this:

O2: how can I help

Me: do you know when you will had the white iPhone in stock for me to order

O2: we don't sell the White iphone, O2 are only selling the black one

Me: are you sure because I don't think that's true

O2: yes I am sure....hang on I'll check.......we will have them and they will be in in several months

Me: several months!!??

O2: yes, you can order then. Can I help you with anything else today sir

So may phone next week and see if their story changes. Has anyone actually got a White one from o2 today??
