Thinking about picking the white iphone this week. Was wondering if anyone has any problems with the proximity sensor or problems in general with it? I plan on using a screen protector if that makes a difference. Can people with the white iphone post their experiences?

I don't have a white iPhone, but i've heard that its fine and seen it on many devices.

What about waiting for the iPhone 5 in September? Unless you don't care, and need it now, i'd recommend you wait.

The only time anyone has a problem with the proximity sensor is if they use a screen protector.

I had a white iphone 4 and the proximity sensor broke on it. Apple was very nice and sent me a brand new white iphone 4.

I eventually took both of them back though... Back to the ole 3G...

my wife got a white one second day out from at&t. No problems at all. Case and a screen protector put right away. If anything, it actually performs better compared to my black 4. Side by side, white always has one more signal bar for some reason...

So I'm assuming the problem with the proximity sensor is very uncommon. Perhaps the first batch? I still wonder why the Otterbox defender case don't fit the white iphone?

no issues with mine. I read here somewhere that the people worried over this were the same people who had taken the phone apart to change colors to white from black.

Thanks for the responses guys!!! Anyone know why the Otterbox case won't fit the white iPhone?

I've owned my white iPhone 4 for about 3 weeks now, and I have experienced no issues whatsoever.

Lie's I have zaggs on both my white and black and no problems at all.

Lies? Kind of ignorant if you ask me. I don't own one but a lot of people have reported having prox sensor malfunctions with a screen protector on the official Apple white iPhone 4.

Thanks for the responses guys!!! Anyone know why the Otterbox case won't fit the white iPhone?

EDIT: I just checked Otterbox's site. They claim the the Commuter case will work with the iPhone 4 white, while the Defender does not. The commuter leaves the entire phone face open while the defender covers the earpiece and prox, with holes for both. I'm assuming that the proximity sensor has been altered in some way by Apple and does not line up with the holes?

My cousin bought a new one and its working fine. I usually talk to him via Video Call on Skype. He said that he's gonna use it for a month and than he'll send it to me. 18 days remaining :p
