i could buy cheap kingston ssd v300 with that sandforce controler, should i expect problems except the sata running at 1.5?

the other few options are kingston fury hyperx, a data sp550, ocz trion 100 and patriot blaze. would any of those be a better fit from a compatibility and stability aspect. speed is not the issue.

thank you for your time, i appreciate it.

Amazon has good prices on the Samsung 850 EVO currently. There is also the Crucial BX100 on amazon that can be found about 25% cheaper than the 850 line (the Crucial MX line is on par with the 850 I believe). I am not familiar with the Kingston though...

The SSD won't make any difference; the 2007 MacBooks only have 1.5GBps SATA. All SSDs will be pretty much the same to it, so no worries about the controller.

I've used Kingston v300s in various Macs, and so far haven't had any issues with them :)

I put an SSD in my 2007 macbook to make it last a bit longer, and this upgrade is probably the best upgrade I couldve ever put in this computer. It increases performance dramatically whether or not it can fully utilize the capabilities of the SSD.
