White or Black iPhone 4S?

Have you seen a scratched white iPhone? I don't think so.
Scratches visually double on the white: there's a shadow/reflection of a scratch on the actual paint under the glass, so each scratch visually doubles.
There is no such thing on the black one, at least you can't see it right away.
Though I agree with you about the smudge thing.
I just use skins from lucky labs.
OP, get black or white. Both are nice. The ones who say white is "girly" are just high school kids.
I had a black 4 for over a year, the last thing I wanted was to get the same exact color in a phone that looks exactly identical to the 4. I had black for a week with my 4S but it personally felt I was just using an amped up 4.
The white 4S feels like I have a whole new phone.
I was thinking of getting a white 4S at the Apple store on Sunday. I decided against it after I saw all the demo phones in the store. They were "dingy", yellowish color. They certainly were not white. Not the bright clean white you see out of the box. Yes I know thousands of hands have touched them but that's the point. How long does the white, stay white? Surely it has to fade over time. All white does. Especially in electronics.
I think both phones look good. I prefer the black though. I like the sleekness of it and I like how the screen just melts away against the black border.

I am a guy and had no problems at all having a White iPhone 4S, it was the black line between the screen and the white casing that annoyed the crap out of me which is why I returned it. 😉

Better be black, because if you drop a white one in Anchorage how the hell would you find it again in the snow? 😱

The white iPhone is not a true white, it's more of a flat white. Also, the phone will not discolor over time because the white paint is actually under a layer of glass (the two slabs on front and back).

In a low light situation the white iPhone can appear creamish or yellow. In a bright light situation especially outdoors it's the brightest white you'll ever see.

Its not a question about being polite or not. Not an excuse really on your part. Not sure what the point of a search function is if people don't even bother using it. There are already multiple threads on this very same question some with polls already. There's no real need for another.

I own a black one but I really don't see the 'white is for girls' thing that seems to crop up with this subject. Woz always seems to buy white ones whenever I've seen photos of him in the stores and he's a big lad (plus he has a beard!) 🙂
I chose black for my iPhone because I thought it would be more practical and it fits in better with the other gizmos and gizzits that I have on my desk/around the place. I wouldn't rule out buying one in white in the future though, my only concern is that all that glittering whiteness would undoubtedly bring to mind Ron Johnson's teeth... 😉

I'm a big dude - 6'4" and currently have a beard - I chose white and I love it. I have a white iPad2 as well. I absolutely love the white iPhone! It always looks clean and elegant. My next iPad will be black, but I love having a white phone.

Meaning the white is for girls crack is BS. That thought process comes from adolescent males and some mature(in age) males who are still worried whether things make them look gay.

Exactly. Assigning product color to sex/sexual preference is asinine. I suppose girls should only drive white vehicles and guys should only dress in black?

He was (I assume) referring to my post above his where I pointed out that Woz - a big old fella with a big old beard - always buys white iPhones - as Rocko1 rightly pointed out, it's an observation on the strange 'white is not for men' phenomenon!
Yeah - for me it's too early to say how well the white will stand up to time. It seems ANYTHING white, electronics or not, will eventually yellow with time. The Apple store white iPhones looked like those links above. Dingy, yellowish color. Not bright white. I understand it's under the glass and all, I just don't know yet. I'll give it a year and see how they fare next year when I purchased my phone.

I got the white one. Had a black iPhone 3G for a while and wanted a change and I think the white one stands out much more
In those links, the yellowed phone was NOT the final released iPhone 4. Argument in INVALID.
My girlfriend has a launch day white 4 with NO screen protector and NO case. Thrown in and out of her purse.
Her phone looks IDENTICAL to my 1 week old white 4S. The discoloring thing is not true. (in our use)
Edit- Just look at all my threads. I'm a very OCD guy and will not lie on here. There is absolutely no yellowing on my girlfriends phone. She has scratches ALL over the screen and steel band, but her phone colorwise is identical to mine.
