Black looks ultra cheap to me, like it's primer or something. I hate blacked out stuff though.

I'd go white all the way.

I had a white 4S, and before that a black 4. I was really pleased with the white and was first thinking about sticking with white for the 5,now I'm not sure, the black does look sleek.

I wonder if aluminium is anodized or they made alloy of black color. In case if it is anodized, it might easily scratch leaving nasty marks. If it is alloy, then scratches should be less visible. Anyway, if I will buy one, I will buy silver/ white just to be on safe side :)

Well, 2 days to think about it

I was leaning towards White, but the Black band on the 5 looks SOOO nice. . .

I also was all set with the White phone till i saw the black one. Now I am once again going to get the Black, however I imagine i will feel differently come 9-12 months from now.

If you look at the iPhone 5 promo video currently on Apple's site, you can seem them laser carving the frame for the black iPhone.

It looks like it comes from a solid block of "slate" colored alloy, as opposed to anodization. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I asked my girlfriend, whose getting the white, if I should get white. She said its too girly :( ...damn boys... looks like its black AGAIN

Yeah. That's how I will feel. I'll get the black and then a few months down the line I'll see everyone having a white one and I'll see how much better it looks and I wish I would of gotten a white one. Then again the opposite could be true.

when i see the white iphones i think wow they are nice but i would get bored of seeing it after a week or so, black is the best color for an iphone!

It's anodized 6000 series aluminum. Here's the info directly off of Apple's website:

"Aluminum and Glass Body

The back of iPhone 5 is made of anodized 6000 series aluminum — the same material used in Apple notebooks — with inlays along the top and bottom made of ceramic glass (on the white and silver model) or pigmented glass (on the black and slate model)."

At first I was worried about the anodized aluminum but once I read that it's the same type used for MacBooks I've got no problem with it. It's high quality and doesn't scratch too easily.

Apple has decided for me. After today's underwhelming announcement, my next phone will be pebble blue. ;)

Anyone see the COOL new black box? Kinda excited about getting a black box instead of the dull white one. The picture is on the Apple.com website.

hard to pick

always was a fan of the white ip but having seen the anodized black back, i'm on the fence now. it'll be a toss up tomorrow night but i'm leaning towards white at the moment.
