I know this has been brought up before but the posts are old and I'm curious if apple has fixed the issue since;
I'm worried about getting a white mac book that discolors and looks yucky really fast. or in even a year. I think this was an issue with the plastic.

White or Black, what's better?

Almost everyone's going to tell you that the white shows scratches more easily, while the black is a 'fingerprint magnet'. The black shows dust more, but is less likely to look stained, and you'll have to clean it less often in order for it to look immaculate (besides fingerprints).
IMHO, I'd go for black, but it's definitely a personal preference. I'd say the black would wear better over time.

Just get the one u like and buy and invisible shield for it or some other variation. will always look good then.

My personal preference is for the black, but I really think the most important thing is to get a package of disposable cleaning cloths and some screen cleaning spray. Regular use of those materials will go a long way to preserving the looks and usability of either the white or black.

chances are that you will have to replace the palmrest due to it cracking before it has time to discolor.

I have 4 friends who have had Macbook for years and I had a second gen one. They never did that. I know some have had that problem, but many haven't. Lets don't use scare tactics. Plus if it happens Apple is good about fixing it.

Sorry. Didn't mean to scare anyone. Just a little sarcasm.

Getting that replaced was so quick and painless I only had time to spend about a hundred bucks in the store.

The palmrest area on the white MacBook is very easily cleaned with a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. I use one about once every other month and my MacBook looks almost brand new after 2 years.

But as others pointed out, it's all in what your personal preference is.

I would loce a Black Aluminium MacBook..
Im not a Mac owner yet, but soon!! I can wait another few months.

Pleeeease dont make them plain aluminium.

I'd probably wait and get a silver one in a month!

To answer your question..... I have a white MB which gets dirty very quickly but scrubbing with a white eraser returns the new white look!
