Hello there chaps!

A bad vinegar smell emanating from my 2011 MBP. I've removed the screen (source of the smell) and saw the internals coated with white residue. I've disassembled the MBP and removed the white residue as much as i could, in hopes of making it run headless.

The white powder ate away most of the black plastic. 🙁

I've used distilled water to soak the white affected parts and brush away the powder with a paintbrush.

Any ideas what this white powder residue is?
